Q&ACategory: Dividend StocksIreland domicile shares

Hi  I am comparing between Interactive brokers and Syfe to start buying Ireland domicile shares (CSPX). Could u advise what are the factors to consider besides commission for buy and sell, inactivity fee, monthly fees, exchange rates, anything else to note?

Will there be any difference if I buy via IB or Syfe these Ireland domicile shares ? Or it’s just purely what each of them charge?

thanks!

Hi Candy, I would personally buy it directly with a broker like IBKR. There shouldn't be any hidden fees for holding an ETF except the applicable tax rate of 15% for the dividends received.

Hi Rusmin  can you elaborate why you would choose IBR?  As I’m leaning towards Syfe with their 2 free trades as I’m not going to trade heavily.

Do Syfe have access to London Stock Exchange? CSPX is listed in LSE.

The brokerage fee is generally very low, especially if you do not trade that often. IBKR will allow you to access multiple markets at very affordable price as well.

Hi Rusmin Like Candy, am trying to buy US stocks through Interactive, do they charge a custody fee per month/quarter for the shares kept under them.    Pat

No. They don’t charge custodian fees but just like other brokers, they will pass through any fees (ADR) that are charged to them.
