Hello,

I am on step 3 and having difficulty calulation the dividend payout ratio for HK\\\\\\\'s Link REIT for year 2024. Please help.

1. Dividend per share is (they call is distribution per unit for the year?) Is 262.65 cents

2. I could not find earning per share so trying to calculate, loss/profit for the year is a negative 2,463million is this right? Divided by total number of shares which is 2,553,845,113million = 0.0000009644 3. Dividend payout ratio, adjusting cents to million 0.0000026265 ÷ 0.0000009644 = a negative 272% is this right?

Please help how would you do it?

Hi Nayda, Please use REIT checklist for any REIT analysis. 8-Step can't be used for a REIT.

Forgive my newbiness, would tracker funds also not be able to use the 8 steps? 
Like 2800 HSI tracker? 
As it holds a group of companies, but still pays dividends, what is the right way to analyse it?

No worries Nadya. I was once like you. Over time, you will get better…

For ETF, we can’t use DM methodology to analyse it. From my understanding, most investors simply buy low-cost ETFs such as SPY, VWRA, etc on monthly basis. We are still doing a lot of research on how to analyse ETF. When the time comes, we will let you guys know…
